The point of monogamous family networks is to treat male and female with complementary and mutually cooperative dignity and to tie the power of sexuality (male, especially) to self-sacrificing communities of love.
Our civilization isn't falling because of the fact that companies have been making things with money they don't have, while people have been buying things with money they also don't have, the vast inefficiencies of our economy in general, and the fact that it's now legal to not hire someone if they're poor, it's due to some sort of superstition that borders on witchcraft.
Yeah.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.
...It's just that I fail to see why what Novak say is relevant.
Further, I fail to see that there is any solution for dealing with that sort of crazy that falls short of periodic militant fascistic ideological purges.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
Is it a news flash that crazy conservatives think that Obama's inauguration marks the downfall of America?

Except that his election and inauguration didn't come before a tanking of the US dollar. Which happened at the start of Bush's second term in office. I've always thought that was hilarious.

While everyone's Philosophy is not in accord, that doesn't mean we're not on board.
Well in all fairness, much of the problems we are now facing were set in motion by the Clinton whitehouse, and it just came home to roost in Bush's. Whch is not to say that Bush didn't want and allow it to come to being, but this current crisis is not the exclusive child of Bush.
The internet gave a voice to the world thus gave definitive proof that the world is mostly full of idiots.
I actually seriously did not notice the words "male, especially" the first time I read it. I think I was subconsciously ignoring them.

I was watching a tv show on the history of atheism tonight, and seeing them reading the laws being bantered about, written and passed, in London at the time of our country's founding seriously pisses me off. It was seriously an instant death sentence - no court, no stop in jail - for espousing atheism in England at the time.
In context, there's no way the founding fathers of the US meant for it to be a 'Christian Nation' like these guys said, or to benefit only males, or even for slavery to stand in the long haul.
The thing that really gets me is that these guys are flipping out because Obama is getting rid of onerous restrictions on abortions. They flap their arms about how Clinton didn't "compromise" with them in bringing abortions down. The Clinton years brought down abortions by 11%! You know what country has less than half the per-capita abortions of the United States? Holland.
Being open and honest about the difficulties and costs and options of various sex and pregnancy related options brings the abortion rate down, because less people need abortions. When a 14 year old girl is 2 months pregnant and sick, it's way too late to try fear tactics - she's already afraid. If you want there to be less abortions, just hand out condoms and real information to girls and boys long before they get into these situations.
The fact of the matter is that "Pro-Life" policies increase the number of abortions, while "Pro-Choice" policies decrease the number of abortions. The most "Pro-Life" nation on Earth (Philippines) has 27 abortions per thousand inhabitants, while the most "Pro Choice" countries (generally those in Western Europe) hover around 2 abortions per thousand inhabitants. Countries in the middle like the United States have numbers somewhere in the middle - the US has about 4 abortions per 1000.
If you were actually opposed to abortion, and not merely to women's rights in general - you'd be Pro Choice. This isn't contentious data or anything, it's very very well known. The people who suggest fighting abortion as if it were a crime know full well that such behavior will actually increase the total number of abortions. They are declaring a war they can't and won't win or end - an effort designed to keep them "needed" and dare I say it funded until the end of time.
